Construction Machinery and Machine Tools Periodic Inspection

Construction machinery and production machinery are inspected on a machine-by-machine basis, taking into account their operational functions and safety equipment.

Which functions are examined in machinery and machine tools?

Traction, steering and braking systems on excavators, loaders and similar construction machinery; hydraulic circuits, lifting or attachment functions, controls and safety equipment are examined. In production machinery such as presses, CNC machines, lathes and milling machines, moving parts, guards, locking mechanisms, controls and emergency stop systems are assessed in accordance with the machine’s mode of operation.

Functional checks are carried out through visual inspection whilst the machinery is operating safely or, where necessary, whilst it is at a standstill. Unverifiable areas, deactivated functions, discrepancies in technical documentation and any findings identified are linked to the machine’s identification number. Industrial doors and access control systems are assessed separately within their own equipment group.
